O'Dell Engineering is providing ongoing land surveying and 3D laser scanning services to support this project that includes installation of a new power house and 7,000 kilowatt generator. Difficult terrain and the need for precision in placement of new structures against existing piping require innovative approaches to traditional surveying. 3D laser scanning has been utilized to measure the existing rock slopes for extremely accurate quantities of expensive concrete fill, to measure existing piping for offsite fabrication and to measure the face of the dam to ensure construction is not affecting its structural integrity.
