Landscape architecture is a key design component of nearly every project. O'Dell Engineering added landscape architecture as a service to its clients in 2002. This has proven to be particularly beneficial for our clients. Locating landscape architecture services in-house has simplified communication channels between disciplines, increased access to competent and qualified professionals and has expanded the firm's overall bank of working knowledge.

Park and Trail Design
Our creative and knowledgeable designers have designed many parks and open spaces within the Central Valley. Master planning and construction documents of park elements such as playgrounds, recreational paths, shade structures, open play spaces, sports facilities and rest areas are common to most O'Dell Engineering park projects.

Recreation Facility Design
O'Dell Engineering has experience designing public and private recreation facilities for clients throughout California. Recreation facility designs and complete construction documents prepared by O'Dell Engineering have included a variety of sports fields and courts including artificial turf applications.

Site Planning
Planning, when done correctly, requires creativity, knowledge of municipal, state and federal regulations and awareness of cost effective design. O'Dell Engineering has been involved with residential and commercial planning projects of varying sizes. O'Dell Engineering's landscape architecture department plays a key role in and is frequently engaged in preparation of area plans, final development plans and specific plans.

Urban Design
Creating comfortable spaces in harsh urban environments can be challenging. O'Dell Engineering has experience with design, planning and implementation of significant urban improvements. Past projects include downtown revitalization, central plaza design, streetscape design and other urban landscape features such as fountains and public seating.

Computer Modeling and Graphics
Our designers are supported with modern technology and software enabling them to produce better designs and complex visual graphics. Our designers can prepare high quality virtual tour marketing videos, or guide you through a preliminary design, highlighting the significant elements of your project far in advance of a final design. In addition to these possibilities, 3D capabilities allow our designers to quickly and accurately complete shade and shadow studies, space and scale studies, and visibility studies.

LEED® Design Services
At O'Dell Engineering we believe that environmental stewardship and awareness go hand in hand with landscape architecture. We have LEED® Accredited Professionals on staff who are mindful of the environmental issues surrounding construction projects and who are familiar with modern green building technologies, materials, methods and applications.

Playground Inspection
O'Dell Engineering has a certified playground safety inspector (CPSI) on staff to assist you with risk management plans or during construction phases of your playground project.

Arborist Consulting
O'Dell Engineering has an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist on staff to assist in the design of projects involving existing and proposed trees. These services are critical when working on projects near and around native California oak species and other valuable trees species.
