The River Bluff Regional Park Playground was a grant funded project that was constrained by a tight budget and construction completion deadline. Due to O’Dell Engineering, a Westwood company’s in-house resources, the concept and improvement plan preparation phases were completed very quickly resulting in a bid opening within four months of the notice to proceed. The project included improvements to an existing sports park to include a playground, landscaping, temporary parking, picnic and barbecue facilities and a shade shelter. Due to the tight budget, four add alternate designs were included in the design.

The River Bluff Regional Park Expansion was an eleven acre expansion of the park to include two additional championship soccer fields, two U10 fields, a U8 field, 250 additional parking stalls, and improved traffic circulation. Key project elements included improved irrigation systems, card reader system access to athletic fields, facility wide wayfinding signage, low water plantings, a corporation yard, and additional tree cover.
